There are four different access levels (or roles) for assets. These are;
- Owner
- Edit
- Report
- View
The varying roles provide a way for users to understand and allow for different uses of an asset profile and its relevant reports and or action items.
Users have different abilities to interact with the asset and it collateral.
Owner Role: This is essentially the 'Asset Owner' and there can only ever be one owner allocated to an asset at any one given time. It give full access to the asset and allows the user to determine ultimate access to the asset and its use.
Edit Role: This role provide full access to an asset and allows the user to perform all functions of an asset including editing, create action items, reports & sharing the asset with others. There can be be multiple 'edit' roles assigned to an asset at any one given time.
Report Role: This role gives the user the ability to view and access the asset however the user is limited to only create & edit reports that have been assigned to them.
View Role: This role provides the user 'view only' access to the asset profile only (not any asset collateral. eg. Reports, etc). This is useful should you wish to provide a user access to an asset to visual display its profile and particulars.
